Select Remove everything to reset Windows 11 to factory settings
Next, Windows 11 wants to know how you’d like to reinstall it during the reset process. You can choose one of two ways:
Cloud download : Downloads Windows 11 installation files from Microsoft servers. This ensures that you have the latest version vnpay database installed, but requires a stable internet connection.
Local reinstall : Reinstall Windows 11 using files already stored on your computer. This method is faster, but may not include the latest updates.
Choose the option that suits you best. I chose the local reinstallation to save valuable time.
The Reset this PC wizard Choose cloud download
Then moves on to the Advanced options step . As you can see in the following screenshot, by default the reset process deletes everything but doesn’t clean your drives. In other words, the process does a quick wipe of the selected drives, but some old data on them can still be recovered using specialized data recovery apps like Recuva . If the jump from pillar to post reason you’re resetting Windows 11 is because you want to start fresh but still keep your PC, you can leave this setting as is. However, if you’re resetting your Windows 11 PC because you’re going to sell your PC or give it to someone else, you should probably also clean the drives on it so that none of your old data can be recovered. To do this, click Change settings .
Change the settings in Advanced settings
In the Choose settings step of the wizard, turn on the Wipe data switch to ensure that the reset will clean your drive(s). Then click Confirm . If you’re using a computer with multiple hard drives, you also get the option to delete files taiwan lead from all drives . If you want to make sure your data can’t be recovered, this is the better option. However, the downside to Wiping Drives is that it takes Windows 11 much longer to fully reset to factory settings.
